【解説】 トランプ氏は18日、辞任したアコスタ労働長官の後任にジーン・スカリア氏を指名すると発表した。スカリア氏は2016年に死去したアントニン・スカリア元連邦最高裁判事の息子。ギブソン・ダン法律事務所のパートナー。2002年、ブッシュ（子）大統領の下で労働省首席法務官を務めた。
アコスタ氏はフロリダ州連邦検事だった08年、未成年の少女に対する性的虐待事件の被告に対する刑が軽すぎたとして非難され、12日に辞任していた。
